Most online stores stop at around -6.00 to -10.00, so finding contact lenses for a strong prescription can be hard. At Alankar Vision we list lenses all the way to +20.00 and -20.00, and we can usually source unusual powers within days. This guide lists every high power contact lens we sell, with power ranges and prices.
Prices are MRP, inclusive of all taxes, with free delivery across India. Last updated: October 2026.
What counts as a high power contact lens?
There is no fixed rule, but opticians usually call a prescription "high" above about -6.00 for short sight (myopia) or above about +4.00 for long sight (hyperopia). Very high powers, above -12.00 or +8.00, are offered by only a few lenses, so it helps to know which ones.
Contact lenses for very high powers (beyond -12.00 and +8.00)
| Lens | Type | Powers | Price from |
|---|---|---|---|
| CooperVision Proclear Sphere | Monthly, 6 lenses | +20.00 to -20.00 | ₹1,545 |
| CooperVision Biofinity XR | Monthly, 6 lenses | +8.00 to +15.00 and -12.50 to -20.00 | ₹3,395 |
Proclear Sphere covers the widest range we sell, from +20.00 to -20.00, and is the lowest-cost choice for very high powers. Biofinity XR is a silicone hydrogel lens, which lets more oxygen through, for people who wear lenses all day.
Contact lenses up to -12.00 (and up to +8.00)
These lenses cover most high prescriptions in daily, two-weekly and monthly versions:
| Lens | Type | Powers | Price from |
|---|---|---|---|
| CooperVision Aspire Air | Monthly | -0.25 to -12.00 | ₹1,195 |
| Alcon Air Optix plus HydraGlyde | Monthly | +8.00 to -12.00 | ₹1,499 |
| CooperVision Aspire Pro | Monthly | -0.25 to -12.00 | ₹1,725 |
| Acuvue 2 | Two-weekly | +8.00 to -12.00 | ₹1,752 |
| Acuvue Vita | Monthly | +8.00 to -12.00 | ₹2,706 |
| Bausch & Lomb PureVision 2 HD | Monthly | +6.00 to -12.00 | ₹2,695 |
| Bausch & Lomb Ultra | Monthly | -0.50 to -12.00 | ₹3,950 |

| CooperVision MyDay | Daily | +8.00 to -12.00 | ₹3,245 |
| Acuvue Oasys 1-Day | Daily | +8.00 to -12.00 | ₹3,300 |
| Alcon Dailies Total 1 | Daily | -0.50 to -12.00 | ₹3,403 |
Above -6.00, most lenses go in steps of 0.50 rather than 0.25. Check your exact power is listed on the product page, or ask us.
Your contact lens power may not match your glasses
Glasses sit about 12 mm in front of your eye, and contact lenses sit on it. For powers above about ±4.00, this changes the power you need. For example, a glasses power of -8.00 usually needs a contact lens of around -7.25 to -7.50, and a glasses power of +8.00 usually needs a stronger contact lens. Always use a contact lens prescription from your eye doctor, not the power from your glasses. If you are not sure, WhatsApp us your prescription and we will guide you.
